Professor Khanfar has held many senior positions including Head of Information Security Department, Head of Computer Science Department, Head of Computer Information Systems, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Information Technology, Dean of Scientific Research, Dean of Students Affairs, Director of e-Learning Center, Deputy Vice President for Academic Affairs, Vice President for Planning and Development, and Acting President.
He has extensive experience in directing comprehensive strategic plans and operational activities including developing partnerships with universities, developing new programs, and developing new curricula in different universities in different countries (Western and Eastern countries).
Professor Khanfar also served as an Information Technology consultant in the City of New Orleans, and the State of Louisiana – and has served as an e-Learning consultant at the Ministry of Education, Bahrain. He has conducted seminars in e-Government, e-Learning, and Information and Network Security.
Professor Khanfar has supervised many Master and Ph.D. students and has served as an Editor-in-Chief of The International Arab Journal for Information Technology.
He has served as the Secretary General of Colleges of Computing and Information Society (CCIS), and The International Arab Conference on Information Technology (ACIT).
Professor Khanfar holds Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. degrees in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology, Western Michigan University, and Yarmouk University, respectively.
